PROTESTANT CHURCH IN TUZLA

Since 2014 our church was serving refugees and migrants in several present in refugee corridor passing through Serbia, Greece and for the past several years in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With regular visits to cities which were and are focus of migrant crisis (Sarajevo, Bihać and Velika kladuša) we served refugees and migrants from various countries and continents. Since 2018 there was a need for serving migrants and refugees in Tuzla. We started with serving hot beverages and food on the main bus station, and later due to increased need, we opened a Day center in our church where hundreds of refugees and migrants could take a shower, have a meal and get clothes. Our first aid team during a day served in our church building office and during the night on the main bus station where we serviced first-aid to those that needed it. At the time around 500 people slept on the main bus station. All families, minors and hurt people were placed in a church building and houses that we rented. As the corona restrictions took place, a large number of refugees and migrants that were in Tuzla were placed in migrant camps in Sarajevo. At the moment we are providing accommodation and food for families and minors that are in transit through our town.
